If there is something The Shoe Slut loves about the same as shoes ... its traveling! I get to travel outside of LA frequently for work and play and I have spent much of my life in and out of airports, flitting about the world. You would assume that I spend most of my time in cities known for their shopping and shoe savvy but this isn't really the case. Of course I have been to Milan and Paris and of course I still make my way to many a metropolis but there is something about living in a city that makes true "vacation" a chance to get away ... to take to the sand and sun and hopefully to a place where geographical landmarks aren't just buildings.
My last true vacations were both to sunny, relaxing carribean locationas and again I find myself planning a trip to the sun belt of the world. On this trip there won't be much need for heels, but riding boots, sassy sandals and maybe a pair of sexy wedges will surely be packed up... And just because I won't be traveling with an arsenal of heels doens't mean I won't pack more shoes than days of our trip ... that's just the way I roll!
If there is one thing I can't stand to see on my travels is an improperly shod woman. If the only walkways are made of sand or gravel - KEEP YOUR HEELS AT HOME, same with dirt and cobble stone... its just silly - NO MATTER HOW CUTE YOU THINK YOU LOOK - falling down or breaking your shoes is NEVER CUTE!
Stock up on some classy flats and sandals (not havaianas) so you are never making that mistake again ... here are some of my favorites for a casual 'barefoot' vacation
1.
1. Diane Von Furstenburg $228 at Saks
2.
2. Diane Von Furstenburg $150 at Amazon
3.
3. Prada Espadrille $420 at Barneys
I will be sure to post what I am packing when I am getting ready to go in February and of course my looks of the day directly from the beach or hidden gem of a hotel ;)
More on The Shoe Slut's travels soon!
