So now you own a pair of metallic boots and are wondering how in hell you are going to wear them casually through the summer... Well thanks to the everlasting summer in California I can show you just how to do that in January! This outfit shows how these metallic booties can be worn as a neutral. I decided to go with a totally neutral look to make my point super clear. The casual gauze blouse and ripped cream denim shorts are a comfortable combo from about 70-85 degrees, and the addition of this lightweight jacket gives the look just the right amount of polish to take it to dinner or or out on a warm night!

"Celebration" a look featuring Rag & Bone Classic Newbury ankle boot

I don't always wear extremely high heels, but when I dont ... people think something is wrong. No seriously. My friends, fans and followers expect to see me always wearing the highest of heels but I can't alwasy be towering above the ground, and not every destination, outfit or outing calls for stilettos. I do wear mid height heels as well as flats ... and here is a great example of a mid heel I LOVE.

In this look I show thta you don't always need to wear the highest heels to rock your favorite little black dress. Although we usually head straight for our highest shoes when pulling out our cutest dresses, it doesn't always need to be the case. Leather accents on feminine cuts are certainly a trend this season and the classic cut of this LBD and you can see that at work in the detailed leather and mesh stripes on this very classicly cut dress! And the two together scream Celebration! 

 These shoes create an outfit that transitions well from day to night for "fancy" events and fair especially well for long periods of time. 

You can wear these shoes literally ALL DAY they are so comfortable so no need to pack a pair of flats to go to an all day concert event, a wedding, or a long night of dinner and dancing! With these shoes its all about what you wear with them, they will be as fancy or casual as you dress them up or down to be ... so go big and don't be afraid to be sexy closer to the ground ;)

"To Dye For" featuring the Classic Newbury by Rag & Bone

This is a TomCat look for sure, some awesome jeans and a comfy sweater, and proves that metallic rose gold shoes aren't always girly! I love the comfort level of this look with its sophistication, The chunky sweater and contrasting skinny jeans with these crinkle leather booties are just the touch of textures needed to make these boots a little more casual.  Metallics are always a trend during the holiday season but that doesn't mean you must put them away after the first. Keep wearing these booties to liven up any outfit and even make this casual ensemble a little less ordinary and much more extraordinary ! 

I get compliments on these from women of all ages, and being that these shoes are comfortable and come in so many color options they really are a great shoe for everyon!!

Shoe 8: Rag & Bone Classic Newbury in Metallic Crinkle

Rag & Bone has created their signature boot in the "Classic Newbury" which you can find in almost any color and textile for the season. I have seen them in black leather, green suede, dark silver metallic crinkle and even flower patterened. There is a Newbury for every woman. When I tried these on in Nordstrom I was with my mother looking at shoes. She is in her mid 5os and was in LOVE with these...She has the same size foot as me but with many more years of wear and ballet she has trouble finding comfortable shoes that don't squeeze her bunion. Of course she thinks I am crazy for the height of many of my heels, so when she saw me trying on these 3" heels she had to try them for herself. She couldn't believe how comfortable they were, how well they fit her foot all around and although we have vaslty different shaped feet I agreed that their comfort and shape were perfect for my foot ... I think we have found the universal ankle bootie! 

With all the choices out there its easy to pick the Classic Newbury in black leather or burgundy suede even the neutral, but I was shopping right before the holidays, feeling festive and embracing the world one foot in front of the other, so I chose the Rose Gold Metallic Crinkle. Rose Gold can be a tough color but I have started seeing it as the new neutral, and these are much easier to match than my rose gold studded jeffrey campbells . You can find them still in stores at Neiman Marus and Nordstrom but the rosegold can be hard to find.

You will be surprised to see how I dress these up and down for all occassions ... now I just have to figure out which pair to bestow upon my mother ...and the next to get myself ;)

This is a versatile look for the office, business lunch, outing with the ladies and with the right makeup and accessories could take you right into the evening... and proof that "The Shoe Slut" is one classy bitch!

I purchased this dress when I was spending 3 days a week in an office casting for an adult company. I managed to amass quite the collection of light weight, patterened dresses that weren't stuffy but rather contemporary. Most of these dresses came from Charlie Jade or BCBGeneration (like the backless dress featured in "Dress Flats" ) I loved all the options that the multi colored patterns of these dresses gave me with my shoes and accessories and when I noticed the perfect match to my Lady Dafs I had to pair them. I tried to keep this look as wearable as possible for the masses, but if you want to try a bolder look add a cream or sheer peachy nude knee high sock to this look or even opaque white pantyhose.

"Happy Holidays" a classic holiday/winter look featuring Christian Louboutin Lady Daffodils

This is a great look to wear all day and even to a casual holiday party or drinks at night. The sweater has a festive feel with micro sequins but isn't overpoweringly sparkly! The cut and glitter factor of the sweater gives it a mature look, feminine feel and major comfort. I love pairing it with these light denim jeans from H&M, they are high waisted with a back zipper and knee patch details that I really love. Don't be fooled though, these aren't "jeggings" these are jeans, and take finding the right size and wearing them in properly to get a proper fit. The colors go great with the dusty rose tones of the shoes and let the shoes shine - in my opinion more than the sequins! 

I can guarantee I will be wearing this look long after the holidays!

Shoe 7: Christian Louboutin Lady Daffodil (160mm) in peachy pink suede

Ahhh, behold, Christian Louboutin's Lady Daffodil 160mm Mary Jane pump mmmmm. These are just delicious. I have a few pairs of Louboutin's in my collection, but these had to be the first I presented to you because they are one of Louboutin's most popular and comfortable lasts (shoe constructions) . The Daffodil and Lady Daffodil (the difference is the pump vs mary jane pump) which also come in peep toes, are just a staple in any girls closet. Since they come in so many different fabrics and colors there really is a Daffodil for everyone! Louboutin makes shoes from size 34-42 which is rare ... its unfortunate that they don't make bigger sizes but its nice to see a company that accommodates petite feet! Although I am still pursuing a pair of Daffodils in Black or Nude (patent leather, or kid leather) because those are the true staple ... I chose this peachy pink which they call "rose" suede because they were just so PRETTY. 

The day I bought these it was my first time in the West Hollywood Boutique on Robertson and with the help of Brian (the most handsome and helpful shoe salesman) I tried on a few different pairs that tickled my fancy but I kept going back to the "Lady Dafs" reminding myself that I really needed to add some more color to my collection and pink is something I don't have much of. I continued to give myself a million good reasons to get them until I was walking out the door with a Louboutin 20th anniversary bag in my hands and a pair of rose suede lady daffodils on their way home with me. 

I can't wait for you to see how I wear them, casually, "to the office" and in a classicly fashionable holiday way ;)

This is a powerful look that packs a punch without being obnoxious. The bright color of the dress and bold pattern of the shoes make a lasting impression and will get you all the looks walking into a room. This look is a great display of how to wear a peep toe bootie / ankle boot with a dress. This is a look you may expect to see with a neutral wedge sandal Like this leather wedge sandal from L.A.M.B , or a cork or wood bottom shoe Like these Cole Haan cork bottom nude patent peep toe pumps , but here at The Shoe Slut I try to bring you new looks and something outside the box. Which in this case means a bold pattern with a bold color, but if you notice I also added the cream cardigan which neutralizes the look and tones it down a little. If you are feeling a bit feistier ... you could also pair this look with a black leather motorcycle jacket for the ultimate good girl gone bad look.

If you are looking for a keen way to wear these leopard print peep toe ankle boots day to night this is it. You can't go wrong with the "color of the season" Oxblood, mixed with leopard print. They go hand and hand. This look proves that jeans can go dressy and a velvet blazer can be casual. Its a rainy day look with the twist of open toes if you are feeling daring! It can even be considered a tomcat look when paired with a tailored shirt or even a t-shirt ;) Its a perfect look for work (in a casual environment), lunch or shopping and can take you out to an evening movie, dinner or drinks with your friends or someone special!

One of my favorite looks to repeat with all different outstanding chunky shoes - its part danger and part doll. Short shorts that can range from ripped denim to leather or even tailored, with a pair of knee socks and a tailored/collared blouse. Its sexy but doesn’t show all that much skin- just the right skin in the right places! Wear it with a blazer, leather jacket or even a denim jacket!
