I am Kayla Jane Danger, The Shoe Slut. I am a model with a serious passion and lust for shoes. With a collection in the 200s I have a lot to say and share about shoes... this is where I do it!
This is a super simple look, and it really tones down the effect of these wild heels. The high low skirt has a bit of drama but not too much. Its got great coverage and flow for a super feminine silhouette. Add the belt of your choice and load up on accessories for a little more flair. For me the shoes are all the flair this dress needs!
One of my favorite looks to repeat with all different outstanding chunky shoes - its part danger and part doll. Short shorts that can range from ripped denim to leather or even tailored, with a pair of knee socks and a tailored/collared blouse. Its sexy but doesn’t show all that much skin- just the right skin in the right places! Wear it with a blazer, leather jacket or even a denim jacket!
These heels may not seem so cozy and inviting, but paired with ripped jeans and a loose square cozy sweater, all of a sudden this outfit is fit for curling up for a movie, or going for lunch on a hazy day.
Wearing shoes like these you walk with purpose, and although they are sturdy, the high heel challenged probably shouldn’t try these. Although the pitch isn’t as high as it seems, the heel and platform are VERY high and not for the weak kneed ;)
This look is for those of you who may prefer a less feminine look but want to rock these super high platform wedge booties… well GO FOR IT! You can rock these with a pair of jean shorts and a t-shirt (something I do often) but I am here to guide you in a different direction. For me mixing the textures of the coated denim, sheer blouse and open weave sweater create a complete look. I love the added flair of rhinestones on the collar, it ties in perfectly with the spikes and adds some bling without the need for jewelry. This look also picks up the color of this season "Oxblood", and these coated denim pants from Rich & Skinny are the perfect anchor piece.
But be careful - make sure your drycleaner knows how to clean coated denim - I have lost many to improper washing
This flowing dress is the perfect match for these heavy boots. It lightens up what can quickly become a very weighed down outfit. I picked the dress up from one of my favorite little local boutiques The Vanity Room in Marina Del Rey. I highly recommend visiting this store if you are in the area for a wide range of sassy contemporary clothing, accessories and gifts.
I spiced the outfit up up with a red purse covered in a dark gun metal spike which keeps this look from becoming a goth fest. You can wear this dress with or without a bra or tank under, although my recommendation would be a neon or bright colored bra if anything at all! There is no harm in being a little risque every once in a while!
Looking for an unconventional outfit for work, girls night, or my favorite … shopping! When you look at the first shot perhaps you are thinking of a black pump, a pink pump, a black stiletto bootie? Getting closer, for me I wanted to show that these chunky platform zombie killers also go perfectly well with a refined “bad girl look” The boucle motorcyle jacket is one of my favorites because its an inherently girlie style, but with the motorcycle cut, its just so much more ME! Its a jacket you can rock with black slacks or blue jeans, an officie friendly skirt, or this faux leather mini! All in all I love the unexpected pop the shoes bring to this outfit!
